Omelet House

If you have read ALL my posts (and I'm not saying you should), you might notice tut I have particular respect for a restaurant with history. The omelet house is just such a restaurant. I know of two locations (and that I haven't expended the minimal effort required to confirm there are no other locations is really an indictment of my laziness).

The omelet house's older location is near Charleston and Rancho in Las Vegas. It is in a old and unattractive mini mall location. Go inside and it is crammed full of cheesy knick knacks and signed photos of yesterday's Vegas celebrities.

But, as anyone who has seen Kyle Orton knows, performance outclasses looks everytime. When it comes to performance, omelet house has quantity AND quality. First, the menu is crammed full of about 40 different types of omelets. They range from intuitive combinations like ham and cheese to unique versions like the Sicilian Sessa pictured below, stuffed with marinara sauce and Italian sausage.

The potatoes are also special. Great seasonings with a crispy but not too hard texture. You toast selection similarly ranges from standard (whiter, wheat, etc.) to unique (pumpkin coffee cake). Perhaps the greatest testament to the quality of the Omelet House's cooking is the truly delicious corned beef hash. After trying Omelet House's hash, you might be angry at every other restaurant that has served you a version that will taste canned in retrospect.

So, go there. It's good and culturally rich.
