This isn't the first big spider in our pool. There is a momma spider (maybe this is her) who a year or two ago dropped off a few thousand babies in our hot tub. It was freaky.
This sucker is tough, it looks like it could take out a hummingbird.
There is Liam's hand for scale. As you can see, the spider is over one tile width long.
